Live performance of A Christmas Carol. One man, 30 characters + live musical accompaniment.

Lougheed House is thrilled to welcome back "Charles Dickens" to once again perform his famous story, A Christmas Carol, in the warmth and seasonally decorated splendour of our Victorian home.

Steven Méthot is a Calgary writer, storyteller and musician who performs A Christmas Carol from memory and animates the voices of all 30 characters, from Scrooge and the Cratchit family members to the ghosts, and more. His previous performances of A Christmas Carol at Lougheed House have sold out.

Steven will be accompanied by three talented musicians (who with him form the quartet “Diminished Fifth”), Natalie Manzer, and Karen and Michael Pollock on harps, flute, concertina, fiddle, guitar and voice.
Tickets are $20 and available here.

About Lougheed House:

Lougheed House Christmas is our popular annual program where the House's rooms are custom-designed anew each year by our dedicated team of professional interior designers who volunteer their skill and vision on our behalf. Until January 7, we are a merry, festive destination for Calgarians of all ages.

Brimming and all aglow with Christmas trees, ornaments, lights, furniture, candles and decorative items throughout three floors, Lougheed House at Christmas is a popular "must see" for Calgary families. This year's theme of "family traditions" has been artfully designed by Calgary interior designers Selina Austin, Ana Cummings, Rebekah McEwan Swantje Macke-Monteiro, Lea Romanowski, Alison Rose, Beatta Ryback and Chantel C. Snyder.

Lougheed House is a hub of cultural happenings and programs, and the heart of Calgary’s Beltline community. A National and Provincial Historic Site and Museum located on our original 2.8 acres, our 14,000 square-foot sandstone prairie mansion remains one of the finest residences in Canada’s Northwest. It was the political and social hub of a fast-growing Calgary from 1891-1938.

We offer spectacular flower & vegetable gardens (free and accessible 24 hours) and indoors we offer (with paid admission) self-guided and guided tours, audio tours, historic interpreters (if booked in advance) and year round revolving exhibits, concerts and happenings produced in partnership with our cultural collaborators.
