Come to Lougheed House for a night of talks & tours about architecture and the unique design & décor challenges of heritage homes. Interior designers Alison Rose and Swantje A. Macke-Monteiro, two of the talents who transformed Lougheed House into a Christmas-season wonder, will take you on a design-centric guided tour of the House, followed by a Q&A with local architects Jessie Andjelic and Philip Vandermey, two architects, Founding Partners of SPECTACLE, and Sessional Instructors in the Master of Architecture program at the University of Calgary. Jessie and Philip will talk & take your questions on best practices in preservation of architectural heritage.

The evening will also feature live choral music and a cash bar.

Every year, our 14,000 square-foot House is custom-designed anew by a changing, dedicated volunteer team of professional interior designers. The result this year is a theme of “family traditions” as many of our designers have incorporated their own cherished family heirlooms into our three floors of Victorian mansion now aglow with Christmas trees, decorated hearths, draped oak bannisters, real greenery, natural fibres, fruit, lights, stained-glass windows, furniture, candles and decorative items. If Christmas is a time for family, our designers have made it personal. Come see what they’ve done!

This year’s design professionals are Selina Austin, Ana Cummings, Rebekah McEwan Swantje Macke-Monteiro, Lea Romanowski, Alison Rose, Beatta Ryback and Chantel C Snyder.
