There's only one Lougheed House. With its gracious elegance and unique status, it's the perfect venue to make your private or corporate function truly special. Make your own memories here! This fully restored National Historic Site is an ideal venue for intimate weddings for up to 50 guests, or private or corporate functions of up to 120 participants. It's a one-of-a-kind setting for elegant 21st century gatherings.

Our rental rates are competitive, based on duration and the areas of the House or Gardens you select. Our team of special event planners will look after every delicious detail to make your function successful and uniquely memorable! And we'd be delighted to arrange for a costumed, historic interpreter to provide a taste of history for your guests, with a custom guided group tour of the House.

Types of Events
Private and corporate events of many kinds have been held at Lougheed House, to the delight of both hosts and guests.
  • Weddings - ceremony, photographs, reception, rehearsal dinner, gift opening, or other portion of your special wedding event; then return for anniversary celebrations!
  • Corporate Functions - board or annual general meeting, early morning training session with continental breakfast, product launch, reception or dinner, merger celebrations, retirement;
  • Photography, Film or Video Shoots - one-of-a-kind location for features, documentaries, music videos, fashion photography, portraits - in the house or gardens

Care of the Historic Building
Special events are part of life at the newly restored Lougheed House. To protect the house from potential damage, we're careful about limiting certain activities. By knowing the rules up front, our guests can enjoy their event while safeguarding a vital piece of Canadian heritage. If you have questions about the suitability of your potential event or activity, just ask.

Please inform staff and catering of your exact set-up at least two weeks prior to your event.
Lougheed House does not permit nails, tacks, staples or tape to be used to attach anything to walls, floors or fixtures.

Dancing and amplified music are allowed only on the ballroom level, to prevent damage to the building from sound vibration. No open flames at all are allowed within the building under any circumstances. This includes candles and food heating devices, even if enclosed in decorative or protective holders. Sorry, absolutely no smoking.

Historic Interpreters
Our historic interpreters know the House and its history intimately. They're the perfect guides to show you and your group all that Lougheed House has to offer, and tours generally take about an hour. Please book at least two weeks ahead for larger groups.
